Regardless of what country you live in, in addition to flooding the
PETITION into your OWN Codex delegate, you must also flood it in to Yetley,
(the US Delegate) because FDA is being lobbied by the so called "Center for
Science in the Public Interest" (a despicable pro pharmaceutical pressure
group operating inside the Beltway in Washington, D.C.) and its important
that Yetley hear from consumers world wide. When someone calls the number
in Germany and gets the email address of the German Codex delegate, please

PETITION FOR THE COMPLETE WITHDRAWAL OF THE GERMAN CODEX VITAMIN PROPOSAL

TO: My Countries Codex Delegate:_______________________________, to the
Codex Meeting of the Committee on Nutrition and Food for Special Dietary
Use, Berlin, Germany, to be held September
21-25.

As a consumer of vitamins & minerals (as well as other dietary
supplements), I hereby request that you call for the COMPLETE WITHDRAWAL of
the German proposal for dietary supplements which is currently at step 3 in
the proceedings. The option of limiting the potency to 100% of the RDA
should be DROPPED because it has no scientific rationale- the RDA is not
defined to serve as a safety limit and no safety data are used to set the
RDA's.

Also, enforcement would preclude established benefits related to intakes of
some nutrients in amounts above the RDA. Language limiting vitamin/mineral
supplements to "nutritionally relevant...physiological" levels also must be
DROPPED. It is impossible to find scientific criteria that define the
limits of "physiologically relevant amounts."

As a consumer, I must inform you that I am insulted by the CODEX shell
game, and can fully see the Multinational Pharmaceutical Agenda,
(especially the GERMAN agenda) in these proceedings.

Granted, last June in Geneva, The Commission concurred with the view of the
Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses that no further
action was needed concerning herbal products as this was a matter for
national authorities to address, especially as regulations and practices in
this area greatly differed from one country to another. The matter was
deleted from the Commission's Work Programme- but this was only due to
grass roots pressure, especially in CANADA, where the CODEX Negative List
Proposal for herbs, which threatened to ban the international sale of many
safe herbs enraged consumers, not only in Canada, but all over the world.

In the article by Jorg Grunwald titled "The European Phytomedicines Market
Figures, Trends,
Analyses"

Grunwald shows in Table 6. Acquisitions of Phytomedicine Companies by
Multinational Pharmaceutical Companies, a pattern of multinational
pharmaceutical giants, such as Boerhinger Ingleheim, Merck, Pfizer, and
others buying up smaller phytopharmaceutical companies (mostly German), in
an effort to takeover the dietary supplement industry, create monopolies,
and drive smaller companies out of business.

So, due to OUR INSISTENCE you deleted the issue of herbs from the
Commission's work programme- AND NOW, WE ARE ASKING YOU to REMOVE THE
ENTIRE GERMAN PROPOSAL FOR VITAMINS AND MINERALS from the Commission's work
programme because we aren't stupid, and we know a shell game when we see
one. The Codex proceedings are an insult to consumers all over the world.
Citizens aren't fairly represented, and in addition to calling for the
complete withdrawal of the German Codex Vitamin Proposal as a THREAT TO
HUMAN LIFE, we hereby call for the complete dismantling of the so criminal
United Nations, as an affront to the liberty, of every man, woman, and
child on this earth.

In evil solidarity with the petrochemical pharmaceutical industry, the so
called World Health Organization of the so called "United Nations" is a
loathsome entity, and while we are in this rebellious mode, much preferring
to govern ourselves within the contiguous boundaries of our respective
nations without the mindless contraints of the UN or any of its auxilliary
bodies, we hereby call for the dismantling of the UN, and the
Bilderbergers, Trilateral Commission, and Council on Foreign Relations as
well. Furthermore, we will have all of you slaves working for the FDA, HPB,
MCA, MCC, TGA and other regulatory bodies know, that we look forward to the
imminent demise of all elements of coersion, which we sincerely hope will
be brought on by the Year 2000 Computer Problem. We trust that you glean
from these sentiments that we are, you might say, just a mite DISPLEASED.

We Hammered 'em in Geneva Last June- BUT NOT HARD ENOUGH!

Last June, in Geneva, through diligent international grass roots action
triggered by IAHF & ALLIED groups, consumers all over the world were
successful in driving the German Codex Proposal for Vitamins and Minerals
BACKWARDS from step 5 to step 3, by DEMANDING, EN MASSE, that the German
proposal be WITHDRAWN ENTIRELY due to the THREAT it poses to human life.
Unfortunately, this wasn't good enough. No one is safe on this planet until
we _KILL_ the German proposal.
CODEX Delegates from Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Holland, the
UK, Japan and other countries, SWAMPED BY PROTESTS of OUTRAGED CONSUMERS
are paraphrased below at last June's mtg:

"Our citizens actually think they have a RIGHT to take these vitamins- Its
like walking through minefields out there!"

Although we did drive it back to step 3, We Failed to KILL the German CODEX
Proposal.So... We've got to POUND 'EM AGAIN, only MUCH _HARDER_ this time
because the CODEX DELEGATES have been licking their wounds for the past 15
months, and they want to PAY US BACK by TRIPLING their crooked efforts-- a
mil here, a mil there, a BLONDE & A CASE OF SCOTCH... doesn't take much to
BUY a Codex delegate in the third world, plus the so called "Center for
Science in the Public Interest", a despicable inside the beltway pressure
group has submitted comments designed to get the FDA to endorse the German
Proposal! (If America falls here, thats IT, health freedom is OVER.)

REMEMBER! In the CODEX SHELL GAME its ONE NATION, one VOTE- so even tiny
little Kuwait has as much voting power as the USA in this FARCE, (even
though they don't even _MANUFACTURE_ dietary supplements, and due to their
"oily" incestuous business relationship with the petrochemically driven
pharmaceutical industry, they sided with the Germans against us at the
Codex meeting that I attended in Bonn in '96 in which we got outvoted as
the German proposal advanced to step 5...

WHAT THE GERMAN PROPOSAL DOES

The German Codex Proposal for Vitamins and Minerals threatens to ban access
to vitamins and minerals within a therapeutic range, (would limit access to
only slight multiples above the RDA), and any substance not having an RDA
would be regulated as a "drug".

Propaganda being foisted off on a gullible public world wide by regulatory
bodies such as the Codex Commission, the FDA, HPB, MCA, MCC, TGA and others
uses all sorts of creative strategies to try to lull consumers into the
false belief that they will in no way be effected if the German Codex
Proposal for Vitamins and Minerals were to be finalized at step 8. Watch
what they DO, not what they SAY, and DON'T FORGET TO READ THE FINE PRINT.

Example: FDA (also Canadian HPB, Australian TGA, South African MCC, British
MCA) puts out a propaganda sheet which alleges that regardless of what
happens at CODEX, it won't impinge on any country's domestic law... an
attempt on their part to lull consumers world wide into a false sense of
security. Do they REALLY think we're THAT stupid?? (Apparently they do.)

PROOF THEY LIE: Every chance they get they try to "harmonize" laws
pertaining to dietary supplements in the direction of more and more
restrictions such as the current proposed rule which imposes arbitary
restrictions on commercial free speech through labeling (Docket No. 98
N-044) RIN 0910-AA59- Regulations on Statements Made for Dietary
Supplements Concerning the Effect of the Product on the Structure or
Function of the Body.

Last April we got the FDA Reform bill amended to specifically exempt
dietary supplements from the harmonization language which threatened to
force the "harmonization" of our food and drug laws with EEC 65/65 in the
EU where dietary supplements are regulated as "drugs", so now they are
attempting to GET AROUND that setback via their legal attack against
PHARMANEX (Cholestin), the red rice yeast extract which lowers mildly
elevated cholesterol (court decision expected soon as FDA tries to declare
it an unapproved new drug), and the DOUBLE PRONG in the attack is their
PROPOSED RULE for structure function claims..... but.... something is
missing here, because the FDA likes 3 Pronged Attacks.... and the THIRD
PRONG IS:

They (or their pharmaceutical kissin' cousins') have enlisted the AID of
CSPI, the so called Center for Science in the Public Interest, by having
them submit CODEX COMMENTS which urge them to SUPPORT the German Codex
Proposal, and to look for "loopholes" in DSHEA which legally "allow them"
to IGNORE THE WILL OF CONGRESS (and the AMERICAN PEOPLE) in order to insist
that it is "well within" FDA's legal mandate to endorse the German Codex
proposal.

THE CSPI PRO FDA "SPIN":

What follows is straight from CSPI's CODEX COMMENTS:

They maintain that the “adoption of these guidelines” (on vitamin/mineral
supplements) “is essential to ensure that consumers do not consume
excessive levels of substances that could lead to tragic adverse health
consequences.” The group is “concerned that the decision to return the
guidelines to step three for further comment and consideration will delay
the issuance of guidelines to ensure the safe use of vitamin and mineral
supplements.”

 CSPI asserts “it is clear that some vitamin and mineral supplements can
pose risks at excessive doses.” The group says “it is essential that the
FDA support international efforts to ensure that supplements may contain
vitamins and minerals up to a level that is considered safe on the basis of
risk assessment considerations, as determined by appropriate risk
assessment methodology, taking into account all sources of nutrients in the
diet,” with the provision that “the maximum safe level of each nutrient
contained in a vitamin and mineral supplement should not exceed the
estimated safe intake per daily dose.”

Example of how the con game is being played: What you must understand about
so called "HARMONIZATION":

Who doesn't like harmony when it comes to art or music, or any aspect of
aesthetics? Well, our would be multinatinal corporate and UN Overlords have
really twisted the meaning of the wordbecause in this context "harmony" is
a term derived from TRADE LAW which means "to make the laws the same" all
over the world... that is, no more boundaries, no more countries, no more
self determination, no more representative government... via so called
"harmonization", our would be OVERLORDS are attempting to employ SLEIGHT OF
HAND techniques in order to achieve their objective. The FDA's current
proposed rule in the USA to impose arbitrary limits on the allowable health
information that can be provided to consumers via labeling at the point of
sale carries the SAME IDENTICAL NUMBER as an even MORE draconian proposed
rule in SOUTH AFRICA, (Docket No. 98 N-044) RIN 0910-AA59..... Now, what
are the odds of this happening by sheer coincidence??? Just for my own
amusement, I called Robert Moore, PhD., at the FDA to ask him if HE thought
this was just a coincidence, and being a good little cog in the machine, of
course he said "yes, its just a coincidence."

Ahem! Something stinks here, people! The S.African proposed rule threatens
to impose full pharmaceutical good manufacturing practice standards on the
industry there- full HACCP standards, and it seems to a growing number of
people that the WHO in Geneva are issuing literal "MARCHING ORDERS" to
regulatory bodies world wide in an effort to "HARMONIZE" us all to DEATH!

So: Where does this leave us? The German Codex vitamin proposal was set
back to step 3 from step 5 last June in Geneva when we tried to get it to
move. So now the RULING ELITE are DESPERATELY trying to get it to move
forward once again. They are getting some assistance from an American
pressure group called "Center for Science in the Public Interest" which is
currently urging the USFDA to BACK THE GERMAN CODEX PROPOSAL, telling them
that their are "loopholes" within the American legislation which is
currently protecting our access here (DSHEA) which should ALLOW the FDA to
LEGALLY get behind the German Codex proposal!
