I have thus far received the identical message to yours 136 times in the last 5 days from almost as many different e-mail correspondents. In addition to clogging our server here at the World Health Organization, this sort of cyber harassment is presumably counterproductive, where you and your colleagues are concerned, in terms of communicating your disapproving message.

I know for cetain that one of my colleagues has also received this message multiple times during the same period. If this is the case for all of the persons listed in the attendance list for the September 1998 session of the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses, then I suggest that you might be creating something of a problem for yourselves where the medium, quite literally, has become the message.

I am copying this message to my colleagues on the Codex Secretariat in Rome and Germany, as well as to our office e-mail administrator, to alert them to the difficulties I am facing. Meanwhile, anything that you can do to put an end to this multiple message dispatch would be greatly appreciated.

You may not appreciate receiving "or being bombarded" with duplicate e-mail from concerned individuals who, not being as articulate as Dr. Rath, certainly have the same concerns and the God given right to express them. What is the difference? Would your attitude be the same if your mail box was clogged with snail-mail or telexes or your telephone was swamped with the same concerns? How inconvenient for you. Why are you a Codex delegate if you cannot handle this situation and offer respect to the legitimate concerns of ordinary people? Are you one of those "higher purpose persons" who think they know better than the great unwashed?

If you have had the intellectual courage to read this far: Do you not find it significant that several of these pharmaceutical multinationals, whom you consort with at Codex meetings and try impress you with their concern for consumer safety, were recently convicted and heavily fined by the United States Justice Department for conspiracy in the price fixing of vitamins since 1991? Do you tolerate hypocrisy?

This is not the first time these drug houses have conspired to fix prices on both vitamins and drugs world wide. These conspiracies and subsequent convictions have happened at least twice before in the last forty years. As in the past when they were caught they promised to not do that again. Do you believe in the tooth fairy?

It is unfortunate for you, but the tone of your reply smacks of arrogance and a lack of consideration for the rights and concerns of humanity that appears to be typical of the unelected who think they are accountable to no one. Ho

As for being counterproductive, aren't government employees supposed to hear the voice of the people they are supposed to be helping? Well, these emails are the voice of a very unhappy people. Imagine if someone in your family, or even yourself were told you only had a few months to live...your only option was someone cutting, burning, and poisoning your (or your loved one's) body. And then you still died, after a truly miserable bunch of treatments which made you worse than the disease you were being treated for. This is what will happen to millions of people if CODEX ALIMENTARIUS is given its way.

I am a person who went from doctor to doctor for almost 30 years, searching for relief from almost daily migraines and the prospect of losing the use of my arms. I was a single mother with three children to support. Went to work practically drugged into a stupor so I could get through the day. Yet all these doctors never found anything wrong, and kept referring me to psychiatrists, who also could find nothing wrong, except for depression brought about by living with undiagnosed pain.

In 1989 a chiropractor discovered the problem. I had been born with two extra ribs, growing off my 7th cervical vertebra. A literal pain in the neck. The extra ribs had been alternately cutting off, or allowing too much blood up into my brain, depending on how I used my arms or turned my head.

With that chiropractor's help, I finally learned to distinguish whether I had too little or too much and treat either with one of two herbs. And I will not say which herbs, because you guys would probably put a ban on their use. But suffice it to say that with the addition of these two herbs AND megadoses of various vitamins, I live a relatively pain-free and productive life now. NO thanks to so-called 'conventional' doctors who don't even know how to read a bloody X-ray!

James- If you wish the deluge to stop, there is a very simple solution. Go to http://www.rath.nl/ and you'll learn what it is. Dr.Rath merely requires that you communicate with him in the appropriate way, otherwise, you may be criminally charged as an accomplice to genocide.

The people of the world have HAD IT with pseudo democratic bodies such as the UN's Codex Alimentarius Commission, and there will be more SEATTLES as a result. Go to http://www.indymedia.org/ to educate yourself in that regard.

I am forwarding your email to Croft and to Lou Anne out to a large list of vitamin comsumers world wide in case any of them would also like to comment to you regarding this situation. It really does NOT PAY to piss off a huge group of people in cyberspace for the simple reason that many of them will just forward your message out to still MORE pissed off people, and a lot of them very well might respond just as Croft and Lou Ann have. Frankly, I wouldn't blame them if they did.
